The Women in STEM Speaker Series was part of the Women's Maker Program 2020. The primary aim of this program is to help increase fellows’ confidence and interest in STEM, improve their sense of belonging in the field, and better prepare them for future careers in the STEM workforce.

The primary goal of the Women in STEM speaker series is to connect the fellows to female role models who work in academia and industry. The speakers were asked to share with the maker fellows as well as the UVA community their learning journeys and how they overcame stereotypes and implicit bias in the STEM workforce.
