T. Lang\'s The Pinocchio Algorithm as a Movement of Freedom\"

The Pinocchio Algorithm as a Movement of Freedom\" emphasizes deep study of \'freedom codes\' in Black movement culture, Extended Reality experience of live performance, and increased curatorial collaboration. Employing insights and innovations gained, we will synchronize media to choreography in order to magnify and multiply audience experience/participation of possible futures.

Begun as an afro-futurist narrative imagining out of research of restorative rituals, spiritual archetypes, and the American civil rights struggle, the current major performance works manifest as immersive installation experiences of healing catharsis. Featuring an Augmented Reality \"cube\" environment, media and other technologies synchronize with choreography to powerful effect.

Building upon the foundation of innovation-development and collaborative exchange, I am launching a new vein of research, “The Pinocchio Algorithm as a Movement of Freedom\" to further explore the relationship of black culture and technology, the movement culture of Black people as the focus i.e. as expression of embodied Blackness, in creating community and owning place, as acts of resistance, as struggle for freedom.
