Come practice Human-Centered Design - a simple yet essential approach (with a silicon-valley pedigree) to any type of product, service, or program design - and let's brainstorm some ways to solve climate change while we're at it. Using climate activism as a case study, we'll briefly dig into the data on why Americans struggle to take action to address climate change, and explore the latest theories from the social sciences that explain some of the barriers to action. We'll then work together - drawing on our diverse backgrounds as techies, artist, and as humans - to develop some blue sky solutions to address the social nature of this thorny existential problem. Designers of all experience levels welcome and encouraged to come (hint: we're all human-centered designers, actually!)!

This will be a fun, practical working session, where we'll co-design real climate solutions on the cutting edge of behavioral science and social engineering. Come ready to learn, imagine, practice DEEP empathy, and collaborate! This is a design WORKshop meaning we'll be working solo and in small-break-out groups, so come ready to collaborate, and / or bring a friend or collaborator you'd like to get creative with!
