DEMENTIA: What Can We Do? - An Open Discussion
The goal of this session is for the participant to share information and experiences about personal contact with individuals affected from any one of the many manifestations of dementia.
My personal history with dementia:
When I was contacted for an interview by a Caregiver Agency specializing in dementia I knew little about this illness. After an orientation I was offered employment as a paid caregiver. Two helpful lectures followed. I have now worked with two male clients learning that each person responds differently to short term memory loss. For individuals involved, dementia can be a painful subject and often difficult to address.
Everyone is welcome as a participant or observer.
