We will start with setting up keywords and draw our mind map using relevant words to extend ideas through mind hovering. Then, it's time to interact with other people. Let's meet novel ideas by exchanging or combining words with others. We will find something we didn't expect. We are going to express these through motion graphics. Bring an open mind and an empty brain!! With a mindset willing to explore how far you can go.
- It is necessary for Adobe After Effects to be installed on participants' laptops in advance.
Part 1: Ideation Process & Introduction to Adobe After Effects The first part of the sessions will focus on ideation, a process that freely spills out a lot of ideas and finds fine-quality ideas. We are going to set keywords, then randomly pour out words coming up about the keywords or burst a bunch of questions, or do both—these words and questions will be linked, making a mind map. We will prune them as needed and categorize them by connecting them based on how they are in similar areas. This process can give us a specific theme or a unique personality. We can sketch out a story from this process as well. Also, this session will introduce an outline of Adobe After Effects so we can express the textual form in our minds with motion graphics. We will also share some ideas about how motion graphics give us different feelings depending on how they move and change in the timeline.
Part 2: Expressing with motion graphics In the second session, by designing simple motion graphics, we will express the ideas we created, expanded, narrowed down, and reshaped in the first session. The way of motion graphics you are going to design can be any form, such as a form containing stories, an impactful symbolic expression, or a very abstract representation. Also, this session will consume time to exchange feedback with each other to influence your work.
