As creative individuals and artists, we are open to sensitivities that bring us both inspiration and fuel for practice, but when not balanced well- the same sensitivities can create havoc in our day to day lives. Meditation can become a supportive practice that informs our artistic vision and voice while also improving our relationship with ourselves and others. This course is about establishing a daily mindfulness practice by learning and practicing the building blocks of a mindful life both as artists and human beings.
In the forth session we’ll look at how our emotions can serve us and our artistic practice by honoring them and listening to them as they hold important messages in regards to what we value, what we need, and who we are. Emotions are powerful and often times are what make our art resonate with others. As artists, we are also more sensitive to what we refer as ‘negative’ emotions - self doubt, judgment, imposter syndrome, fear - to name a few. We’ll practice listening deeply to what emotions have to teach us and see that behind each ‘negative’ connotation we give them, there is a friendly aspect to them - care, value, and a deep desire to create and serve.
