I'm a huge comic nerd (the cover is a comic zine I made), but not in the Marvel superhero way, but in the poetic-1-3 page-with panels-could be a zine way! This will be a 4-part workshop that will go through:

1. Definition - What is a poetic comic? examples (view a mini preview here: https://www.are.na/connie-liu-kg4ypfp7ry0/poetic-comic-archive)/I will bring in some physical comic zines I own
2. Theory - Different strategies - scripting/wordplay, visual storytelling, metaphors/abstraction
3. Application - How to make your own! digital / physical tools and strategies
4. Distribution - zine/communities in NYC, digital representations
