Let me introduce you to the concept of Groove. Groove is the moment when rhythm comes alive, making you want to move your body to the music and get into the flow.

Spoiler: It will be a long day, so we will start with some fun stuff where you will move your body and use your hands.

I'll demonstrate how understanding Groove can enhance your visual and time-based projects.

At the heart of music is the interplay between tension and release, much like breathing. Music begins to breathe and resonate when it achieves a captivating balance between these elements.

We'll explore concepts in arranging and composition that build tension and release, such as:

Motive Development Layering Foreshadowing Rhythmic Displacement We'll also groove through some fun exercises. At the end, we'll have an open discussion to share experiences and see how you can apply these concepts to your projects.
