This session is for those who are interested in exploring new codes on textiles.
Kené pattern is a geometric form which is in many different textiles made by native community Shipino Konibo from Amazonian region of Peru, every time I've got the chance to share with the maestras they pass their hand over it and start singing with a healing intention, these songs are so called "Ikaros" and in this session I'm going to bring a special long coat which includes Kené pattern in it as part of representing the "Ayahuasca" created by Peruvian shipibo konibo activist and artist Olinda Silvano. I'll deconstruct the kené pattern according to Olinda's voice and use it is a music score which you may start composing a new "ikaro".
Bring your equipment if you want to create your own beats based on kené patterns, let's have some fun!
All curious in Amazonian cosmovision and ancient tech are super welcome!
