Take a break from the screens, move your whole body, use all of your senses, lift your mood, improve your wellbeing!

Join me and your fellow campers for 30 minutes or one hour or more for the ANNUAL TRADITION of planting the 2024 NYU ITP Camp Community Herb Garden on the 4th floor balcony.

Beginners and pros alike are welcome.

We will prepare the soil, spread compost, transplant seedlings and water our new transplants.

Come share your personal stories, traditions and and aspirations regarding growing your own food.

Let's chop it up about herbs and their uses in cultural cuisine, while we jam out to fun music and drink fresh homemade mint lemonade.

PS: The New York Times recently dropped an article titled "Why Gardening is So Good For You". Here are a few quotes from the article in case you needed convincing :-)

  • "Digging holes can be a workout and mood booster all rolled into one."

  • "Gardening can provide people with a sense of meaning and purpose. “When you’re working with plants, you’re the nurturer,""

  • "Gardening does wonders for your mental well-being. Some studies report that working in a garden lowers people’s scores on anxiety and depression measures; other research has found increased confidence and self-esteem among gardeners. In one small study, spending 30 minutes gardening lowered levels of the stress hormone cortisol."

See you there!
