Calling all furniture, sculpture, and AR fanatics!!

Join us and examine the contentions between digital and physical materiality! In this introductory workshop, you will learn to design sculptural chairs and experience them using AR Instagram Filters! We will begin by analyzing how the "chair" embodies physical reality. Through artistic and digital modification, we can transform this object into a sculptural form that transcends physical materiality by entering digital spaces.

Learning Objectives:

A) Gain a familiarity with the sculptural art of chair design.

B) Develop conceptual designs and model them using 3D software.

C) Experience digital materiality by creating AR chair filters for Instagram.

D) Have some laughs and a good time!

Recommended Experience: 3D modeling experience (NOT REQUIRED!) Please download the following software: Blender and Spark AR Studio
