Our relations with cooking, ingredients, and cultural recipes reveals our engagement with complex histories of migration and globalization while offering transformative thresholds to consider the porosity of bodies, borders, and their digestive processes. In this workshop, participants are invited to share an ingredient or recipe from an area of the city to reveal our relations to food's social and cultural geographies in the city. Through discussion and virtual production techniques, participants are invited to collectively construct a short live-media essay that reflects our complex entanglements with food consumption, identity intimacies, and relations.
Please come with a recording (any form, defined expansively) and/or a story to share about a food or ingredient. If you feel so inclined, bring a snack to share! Please indicate any food allergies/sensitivities in the registration or contact session leaders directly.
