🧸 Sewing Machine for Beginners

Learn how to use a basic sewing machine to stitch a line!

Together, we will go over the different components of a machine (using the Singer Heavy Duty Sewing Machine as reference), how to wind a bobbin, how to thread the machine, how to pick the correct tension setting for our material, and how to make our first stitch. The workshop will consist of an introductory presentation, a demo of several stitches on different materials, and then we will try using the machines ourselves. There are only a couple machines in the shop, so we will have to take turns.

The skills we'll review can be useful for basic projects such as: making a tote bag, hemming pants, or closing seams.
