Designing for Nonlinear Stories PART TWO

This two-part workshop explores the art and design of nonlinear storytelling through immersive, interactive formats. In Part One, we’ll unpack nonlinear narrative structures using Jane Allison’s “Meander, Spiral, Explode” as our guide. Participants will get hands-on experience with Blender and scanning, learning foundational skills like scanning, moving, rotating, scaling, and cleaning up.

In Part Two, we’ll shift from structure to prototyping for interactive design. With guidance and a Blender control one-pager, you'll begin prototyping interactive story moments. The workshop culminates in a group reflection and sharing of your creations.

No prior Blender experience is required—just bring your curiosity and your story ideas. Please bring a 3-button mouse for Blender controls!
