Feedback can be brutal â but it doesnât have to be! We'll chat best practices (+ what âbetter feedbackâ even means!), and explore a variety of critique frameworks that empower makers + respondents alike to engage with both rigor and kindness.
This might be the session for you if:
youâre new to asking for feedback on your creative work and want to build your confidence
youâve accidentally gone way too hard during a critique and hurt someoneâs feelings, or vice versa (been there đŹ)
youâre tired of getting notes that seem more about your respondentsâ creative ideas than your own
youâre a teacher, facilitator, &/or maker curious about expanding your critique toolbox
Expect a mix of lecture + thinking out loud (aka group discussion) -- personal experience, opinions, &/or challenges related to this topic very welcome!
(P.S. Just a heads up that while we may touch on playtesting/user testing best practices veryyy briefly, that won't be the focus -- though a lot of what we'll cover in this session may still be useful to you in that context!)
