We’re all pretty used to optical illusions, but what about auditory illusions? How do we hear, and how do we mishear? Can we actually trick our ears?
Yes, we can, and in this session, we’ll dive into these questions and explore how this is technically possible. If you're curious to hear a story that stretches all the way from Bach to Batman's Badpot, this one's for you!

After that, I’ll talk about my interactive installation called “This is not a strange loop.” In this work, I use auditory illusions combined with position tracking through camera input (via MediaPipe), and step motor control(via Arduino) - all put together in Max MSP. We’ll take a look at the patch I created for it. Don’t worry, it won’t be a full-blown Max MSP tutorial, but I believe it’ll give you some fun insights into things like video capturing, Arduino communication and parameter control.

Finally, I’ll share a bit about the performance I’ll be presenting on Friday, Performance Showcase. We’ll open up topics like computer music, experimental music, post-digital music, digital capitalism and maybe even try to kill a bit of technological mystification along the way.

See you in the session and Performance Showcase, bring your playfulness by your side,,,
