In this hands-on workshop, we'll dive into the basics of game creation using the p5.play library—a powerful extension of p5.js that makes it easy to build 2D games with sprites, animations, collisions, and more.
No prior game dev experience is necessary. If you’ve ever drawn a shape in p5.js, you’re ready to level up!
We’ll explore:
- Sprites, movement, and collisions
- Animation and interaction
- Simple game logic (points, lives, win/lose conditions)
Bring your weirdest ideas: dancing cats, bouncing blobs, haunted donuts—anything goes. By the end, you’ll leave with your own playable mini-game and the tools to keep building.
Who it’s for: Creative coders, artists, designers, and curious humans. Some p5.js familiarity is helpful but not required.
What to bring: A laptop, a web browser, and your imagination.
