From Ancestral Design to Future Aesthe/Tech (Session 2 of 2)

Date: June 13, 2025 4-6pm

Format: In-person only

Tags: (No tags)

For Session 2 of this multipart workshop series, each participant will move forward in now working through an iteration/ prototype/ finished product—wherever they may be in the process at this point—of their idea selected from the lecture and our discussions from Session 1 (the week prior, June 5th.) This will be produced from a symbol, motif, iconography, or design concept from their own ancestral heritage(s) reimagined and redesigned for the future by way of technology into a physical object, multimedia audio/visual manifestation, virtual experience—or anything else they can envision.

Depending on the interests and preferences of the group overall, participants may break into smaller groups based on similar thematic or technological interests to work collaboratively, or continue all together on the work. The goal will be to complete a project for camp, perhaps incorporating other things you've learned throughout, or at least a solid prototype of a concept you may wish to continue working on afterward.

Note: The date/ time for this session will be reconfirmed or updated based on the preferences and availability of Session 1 participants.

Also, for anyone interested to join, who cannot attend Session 1, please contact me and I can offer some guidance that may help you to otherwise prepare for this second session.
