This session will be some theory, discussion and implementation on creatively coding in sustainable ways. The technical component will focus on L5 (https://l5lua.org/), a Processing and p5.js port into Lua. Lua and L5 can be pretty powerful as a low-tech solution that can run on a ton of different operating systems, and the goal is to build it with permacomputing in mind.
Designed for first-timers, this hands-on workshop will give you the skills you need to create sustainable artworks. Previous experience with creative coding or programming is helpful but not required. Artworks made during this session will be published in [magazine or itch.io]
As L5 is actively undergoing development, we would some input on the "getting started" design/tech startup flow and your experience working with and building projects in L5. See the public GSoC proposal for the summer project details!
This session will be co-hosted by Sam Heckle (https://samheckle.com/) and Lee Tusman (https://leetusman.com/)
