This hands-on workshop at the Craft Corner is divided into two parts: first, participants will make their own juggling balls, and then they will learn how to juggle with them.
In the first section, participants will hand-sew juggling balls using leather or fabric, upholstery thread, and plastic pellet filling. The balls are constructed from a simple two-panel pattern, making them accessible to beginners while introducing basic hand-sewing techniques, material exploration, and object making.
In the second section, participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of juggling. We will begin with one-ball exercises to build focus, coordination, and body awareness, then progress to two-ball exercises that develop rhythm, timing, and the skills needed for the three-ball cascade. The workshop is designed for complete beginners and emphasizes playful learning through movement, repetition, and experimentation.
Basic materials will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring any additional materials they would like to use, such as fabric scraps, thin leather, upholstery needles, filling materials (plastic pellets, plastic beads, beans, etc.), or any balls they already own and would like to practice with.
