Machine learning isn’t all just LLMs, neural networks, and deep learning. Come learn the foundational methods of regression, classification, and data mining using Google Colab and scikit-learn. Instead of focusing on machine learning as a tool for optimization, automation, or efficiency, we’ll approach it as a tool for discovery. We'll focus on interpretable models and small datasets, developing the intuition behind how they work and how you can apply them to nearly any dataset you can find or scrape. Learn how to uncover clear structural patterns out of the massive piles of noise that our brains aren't naturally equipped to parse.
• Prerequisites: Minimal coding experience necessary; familiarity with Python helps but is not required. • Requirements: All work will be done in-browser using Google Colab notebooks. You just need a laptop and a Gmail account—nothing else.
