PART 2: 🦁 AI Against I: A Reggae Polemic 🗣️ New!
Date: June 25, 2026 3-5pm
Session Leaders: Alanna Okun • John Henry Thompson
Format: In-person only

Running it back! Beginning with a brief presentation on the roots of Rastafari, Reggae, and Dub, this workshop will challenge participants to think of the problems of AI in dialogue with ideas of self, consciousness, collectivity, and oneness embodied in the concept of "I and I".
Following this presentation, we will enter into musical dialogue together through participatory performance. The goal is to use the instruments we have on the floor (electric guitar, bass guitar, classical guitar, keyboard, drum kit, gong(?)) as well as any musical instruments or devices attendees want to bring (e.g. synths and pedals) to improvise our own musical polemic against AI in the style of Reggae/Dub.
