Marc Canter's interactive CD-ROM "Meet the MediaBand" was an award winning title created with MacroMind Director, (later called MacroMedia Director, then Adobe Director), a multi-media authoring tool very popular in the 1990's.
In 2017 the Director application was put to death by Adobe and so a generation of titles created in it became inaccessible. Thankfully Eugene Sandulenko, an open-source developer, has built an engine to playback and examine Director content on modern computers.
Join John Henry Thompson, in person, and Eugene Sandulenko, virtual via zoom from the Netherlands, as they demonstrate how to play digital ancient titles such as "Meet The MediaBand" on your computer.
Time permitting we'll also demo some of my fav titles from this era (eg. "Total Distortion", "Dazzloids") and how to use the SCUMMVM engine to inspect the media and code in these titles (see contents of Director files: score, cast, and Lingo source code!)

FYI: In the early days of ITP, Director was used for the foundational course "Introduction to Computational Media" (ICM). Still been taught today, now using p5js.
