Created by artist-duo and ITP Campers Voyo Woo and Matthew Yacavone during a recent art residency, Head in the Clouds is an immersive, bio-responsive installation that brings together hand-cut paper, a reclaimed tree, breath-responsive light, EEG-based interaction, ambient sound, and guided meditation/ritual.

Visitors enter a suspended atmosphere of floating handcrafted paper clouds and encounter a central Tree of Life inhabited by hand-cut flowers, insects, fungi, vines, and delicate paper ribbons. Drawing from Chinese paper-cutting traditions, the Tao Te Ching, and Nüshu—the world's only known women-created language system used by only women—the installation explores the relationship between nature, technology, and collective wellbeing.

During guided meditation sessions, participants' brainwave activity is translated into subtle shifts in light and movement, allowing internal states to gently shape the surrounding environment.

The work asks:

How can calm be restored and shared?

How does attention move between bodies, spaces, and atmospheres?

What might become possible if calm is understood as a shared social infrastructure?
