Link for slides is in he Remote Meeting Link above. The amazing thing about talking is not the noises you make, those are arbitrary and different in different languages, but the locations you can activate in another person’s mind with those noises. Similarly the amazing thing about neural networks is not the things they generate, but rather computers can now mathematically capture the conceptual locations of images (and of course text) in a way that mimics the locations for them in our minds. In conversation there is a certain ecstasy when you have the feeling that you are both navigating the same area in a complex topic in your minds. Can we use neural networks to induce that same satisfying feeling that you are coming close to similar places in another person's mind by "speaking" in images. This session will demonstrate how images are related in machine learning networks using something called embedding models and how we might navigate these networks by creating imagery.
