getting WOKE to git and github
Date: June 18, 2026 1-2pm
Session Leaders: John Henry Thompson
Format: Hybrid (In-person with online access)
Using John Henry Thompson's Woke-Mind/Movement repo as a reference we'll get hands-on, down and dirty with git and github. Designed for the beginner who has never touched git or github, we'll go through creating your own public and private repo's, updating repos in the browser and via the command line, demystifying branching, pull-requests, github pages, blah blah blah ...
Historical context of the underlying git software will be provided. We'll explore other options for hosting repos beyond github to prepare yourself for freedom from the billionaire class.
Deliberately scheduled the day before Juneteenth.
