This is the first of 3 workshops on Blockchain, Smart Contracts, Deep Identity, and the emerging decentralized Internet Of Agreements. Check out The Sense Collective's Project page for more details.
Systems with limits will fail at globalization ◠VISA would like to offer credit to the world ◠VISA is almost entirely reliant on state ID papers ◠VISA can’t offer credit to maybe 2/3 of humans ◠It’s 2017. Build systems with global reach.
Regional Climate Data and Predictive Simulation Models should be hosted across thousands of computers, to harness the distributed power of the Ethereum Super Computer and the Nexus Quantum Blockchain (with a truly decentralized Cube-Sat Telecommunications Infrastructure), and to ensure no-one can take down servers hosting crucial systems diagnostics and Life-Support feedback regarding our Natural Resources and Public Works. The Sense Collective introduces the hardware (Perceptagon) and Software (LumenOS/EcoBlockchain) to transition our cooperative management of social and natural capital to the decentralized web.
We will examine the distinct aspects of the "old" internet, and database infrastructure which is currently crumbling under the sheer volume of "Big Data" which floods corporate "Cloud" servers every day.
How do P2p Distributed databases change the shape of the web? What will the internet of 2020 be like? Is it too late to make technology work on our behalf, delivering the maximum agency and benefit for the producers who drive this economy?
Using Raspberry Pi nodes, hosting Bitcoin and Ethereum Light Clients, a Lykke Wallet and Global Exchange portal, and several innovative blockchain alternatives and plug-ins (Nexus Earth, PIVX, BOSCoin, Expanse, DASH, SONM, GOLEM) The LumenOS Operating System hosts over 100 Geospatial database frameworks, Simulation Modeling tools, AI Decision Support, alongside an amazing combination of Creative Coding frameworks, Generative Display, Sonification, Projection Mapping, and other creative tools, The Sense Collective is developing the missing curriculum, projects, events, and activities which connect artists, musicians, engineers, generative designers, and researchers with policy makers, fund managers and anyone else who is exploring the edges of the emerging decentralized cooperative economy.
This first workshop will focus on: 1) Creating your first Deep Identity account. We will check out Uport, OneName, Truffle/Metamask, Token, and a few other emerging standard-bearers who are addressing the requirements of a decentralized identity.
2.) Organizing your specification interface to begin training your own personal AI Chatbot, and Decision Support framework, while simultaneously connecting you to a dynamic array of friends, subject matter experts, influencers, and thought leaders as well as a variety of civic collaborations including your local State and Federal Public Works systems. Through these cooperative groups you will be able to enter into an amazing number of financial agreements, cooperative insurance plans, P2P lending, Micro-Finance, Venture Capital, and Public Impact Bond initiatives which benefit from the Digital Trust (Trustlessness) that has otherwise prevented these dynamic cooperative agreements from delivering the massive benefits which are being unlocked through the Lykke Asset Issuance protocol, and Natural Capital fund.
Blockchain & Smart Contracts 101 We will spend the first 1/2 of the session going through the various components of blockchain technologies and I will provide enough detail for you to spend the 2nd portion of the workshop developing your own mini-project, smart contract, cooperative fund, Public Art Intervention, or Citizen Science experiment with one of several available physical computers and sensor kits. I will have examples from MaxMSP, Arduino, and P5js as to how creative coding can be used to make sense of the various blockchain transactions in a way that helps to expand these concepts into broader use within our society.
â— Most of the real problems in identity systems are to do with transaction costs and bad data. â— Cryptography can help with the trans. costs â— Insurance can really help with the bad data â— Cryptography cannot help with bad data. â—Specification, Authentication, Attribution can all help to reduce the amount of bad data we allow into our decision support frameworks.
The driver of the next industrial revolution and greatest commodity on earth is personal data. We've been acting as unpaid knowledge workers for Google & Facebook to a point where serious social and cultural failures stem from our dysfunctional Identity & Attribution models for demanding optimal value from the content we create, words we type, sentiments we share online. The Decentralized Socio-Semantic Web realizes the original dream of the internet pioneers, and with some minor adjustments to our online behavior, we can claim rightful ownership of the billions of dollars generated from our user data every day. We will also ensure the data is correct, and that it represents our best interests. As more of our lives rely on automation systems and AI, we must fully participate in specification of what we want from these computational frameworks, and by what limits we allow their autonomy at the expense of our reflexivity.
