Making Things Talk, new edition! More Talking! Now with JavaScript!

If you’re interested in connecting physical devices to networks, you’ll probably find Making Things Talk to be a useful book. I just finished a third edition of it, adding new programming tools like p5.js and node.js, and updating the microcontrollers used to include Raspberry Pi, newer Arduino boards like the Arduino 101 and MKR1000, and the ESP8266 microcontroller. In this talk, I’ll give an overview of the book, and highlight sections that might be useful to campers working on connected hardware.
