This session will go over examples of digital and analog media's failure to accurately document aspects of the world that are readily perceived by the naked eye. Additionally, we will look at examples of how these effects can be harnessed creatively.
If there is interest following this course, there will be an additional session in which we will create a device that will visually distort an object in real time.

The link below contains info from the session as well as design files & instructions to build the device I demoed at the end of the session that emulates a rolling shutter effect IRL.
If you are interested in participating in another session in which we make these, please email me at hardingj@newschool.edu so that we can gauge interest in this possibility. Note: the material cost per person (if we work together and buy components in bulk) is around $35, and you would need to source these materials yourself/in groups.
