This is a repeat/update of a session I led back in 2015 that I had a lot of fun with!

I want to expand for everyone the possibilities of audio in their projects - beyond the notion of "Stereo".

What can be done with more speakers?

How many is too many?

(trick question - no such thing as too many speakers)

This session will cover...

Acoustics - how sound reacts with our physical world, and how we perceive that. How can speaker placement help you, and how can it hurt you? Not physically...usually.

I'll talk a little about sound system design for large-scale events, such as an arena concert or a Broadway theater, but mostly I'll be talking about how our brain interprets sound and how we can use that to our advantage.

Psycho-acoustics - how our brains interpret the sound waves coming into our ears. It's a fabulous, nebulous, and bizarre world and I'm so excited to talk to you all about it!
