Experimental "Comics" and Comics-Making as a Way of Thinking

Abstract comics, hypercomics, comics poetry, comics-making in pedagogy, and more! If you’re curious about “comics” that integrate aesthetic principles from conceptual art, interactive fiction, computational media, poetry, experimental music and graphic scores, please join me!

I’ll be sharing some patterns I’ve found in my own research on innovations in comics that acknowledge the traditional framework of comics (panel-based composition/sequential art, space-as-time, juxtaposition, word-image hybrid) but warp, tilt, and twist it into other things.
