Make your own metallic tattoo or capacitive-touch sensor with your own design! Derived from a graduate paper from MIT Media Lab, we will be generating a temporary tattoo in imitation gold or silver leaf from your own vector file. There will be several interactive samples on-site to see the possibilities!

To create a few designs during the session, please bring your Illustrator file converted to a DXF file format. If you'd like to design on-site, I can help tweak your Illustrator file or we can convert to DXF (file format preferred by the Silhouette Cameo vinyl cutter). This is not an Illustrator class, however. You can also use the Silhouette software to create your design.

If you'd like to make a sensor, please bring a touch capacitive board (Adafruit 12-Key Capacitive Touch Sensor Breakout - MPR121 + Adafruit Feather 32u4 Bluefruit) and your computer with Ableton or GarageBand to connect to your arm. I can show you how to connect your sensor to bluetooth, but the coding is up to you!

Let's decorate our bodies with METAL!
