Our data forms an intangible version of us, whether it is the facebook profile, spotify stream history, or credit card transactions. Yet it has tangible consequences on our life.
In this two part workshop, we spend the first lecture on data visualization design. We will talk about ethical data visualization design and how to spot it in various examples. We will review concepts such as "visual trumpery", "data-to-ink ratios", and “data physicalizationâ€. We then turn to geographic data and demonstrate how to visualize it and turn it into a physical object.
