Working with Plastic (when a 3D printer can't hack it)

Get acquainted with basic techniques for cutting, bending and joining blocks and sheets of plastic. This encompasses a family of materials from the commonplace to the exotic, with a diverse range of capabilities. When you need sizes, strength or other material properties that 3D printers can't offer, working with solid plastic sheet may be the answer.

We will experiment with several powerful and versatile techniques for bending and joining plastic sheet. Tentatively including:

-Hot bending acrylic and Starboard.

-Using fasteners: drilling and tapping

-Solvent bonding acrylic, ABS, PVC

-Plastic welding various sheets
