You don't know your face yet 1 : Drawing your self-portrait workshop
This workshop focuses on the creation of one’s portraits, beginning with a hand drawing on paper and then transforming the style using Adobe Photoshop to obtain a unique artistic profile. It is for everyone who wants to create a different profile image other than a normal smiling profile picture. This workshop is divided into two parts - drawing and Photoshop. Enrolling in both classes is recommended, but students can also take either one individually.
Part 1 Drawing We take selfies with our phones, but we don’t actually know what our faces look like. By observing yourself for a while, you are forced to focus on your appearance. The drawing workshop consists of both lecture and drawing practice so that students can understand how artists have depicted their self-portraits, and then they will learn to express their portrait with their own style. References such as Albrecht Durer, Egon Schiele, and David Hockney will be provided in the class to expose students to diverse styles of self-portrait drawing. Some utensils will be provided, but students are free to bring their own tools like pencils, crayons, and anything that functions as a writing utensil. Also, bring a printed copy of your best profile photo. Let’s enjoy selfie-drawing!
Due to the nature of the conversational style of class, it is highly recommended that you RSVP to keep the class size small.
