Playing the Internet: Web Audio Basics

The web browser can be a rich and powerful tool for music production, creating experiences that would not be possible by any other means. This class explores Tone and P5 Sound, two Javascript libraries that serve as wrappers for the Web Audio API. We will cover audio playback, user input (from the mouse, keyboard, mic and camera), and web synthesis (creating sounds from scratch within the browser environment with Javascript programming) to create interactive web-based musical environments. While no musical knowledge is assumed, some basic programming skills will be helpful.
