PhysComp Gets Real! What happens when your art project has to be manufactured.

Artist and designer Eric Forman will give a behind the scenes look at how his project TreeShell got into the MoMA Design Store collection, and what he learned along the way. The presentation will show:

• How to take a low-fidelity prototype to the next level
• How to shrink circuit boards and deal with battery issues
• How to elegantly hide technology
• How to combine disparate materials that manufacturers don't like combining (like trees and circuits)
• And most importantly when to save money and DIY, and when to suck it up and pay someone

This presentation will be aimed at a general audience, no specific experience is necessary. There will be an extended Q&A at the end so you can ask questions about your own ideas and how to make them.
