Tejuino Blues
Drinks with Prehispanic roots and a New Yorker bite.
Join us to taste the flavors of Mexico and explore the roots of a popular Mexican drink, prepared specially in NYC for ITP Camp. Tejuino is a fermented blue corn drink hailing from the western Mexican state of Jalisco, tracing its origins to the Wixárika community. The drink is served best cold with green lime juice, a scoop of lime sorbet topped with a rim of salt and ash of corn. (spiked versions optional)
As a side dish, bite into a crunchy blue corn tostada with a base of guacamole, and a roof of purslane greens and blueberry sauce topped with dry Mexican cheese.
