QUITTING NEWS (& social media)
In this session we will discuss the value of spending your personal time reading news and to a larger extent social media. Consuming news, especially in large quantities, can have toxic effects on the mind. In this session we will explore the mental health effects of news and social media. We will then discuss specific approaches to quitting some or all of this media.
I left Facebook 4 years ago, left Twitter 3 years ago, and quit all news and social media 2 years ago. The benefits to my quality of life and mental health have been countless. I will be sharing both my tactics to quit news and what some of the consequences and risks of doing it are.
