The Scrapyard Challenge Workshops are hands on hardware hacking workshops where participants dismantle old, junked electronics, appliances, toys, games, furniture, and other objects to create musical controllers. No knowledge of programming is needed, just an inquisitive mind and basic soldering skills. The Scrapyard Challenge workshops were founded in 2003 by Jonah Brucker-Cohen and Katherine Moriwaki (both ITP alums) and have been held in 15 countries on 5 continents since 2003.
For this session you will need to bring a piece of junk: old appliance, video game controller, kids toy, old computer, CD player, etc...
