Prelude? What is it and how to use it for video post-production.

After five years of working as a Digital Media Producer/Manager on a Global Art Initiative at a major museum, I ended up with a massive number of video clips of artworks, curators, artists, etc. in multiple exhibitions spanning several cities across the globe (see Exhibition Overview videos in this playlist to get an idea of the artwork overlaps between exhibitions).

During the archiving of this footage, I needed to make sure someone could easily find a clip of an artwork, for example, in any of these locations. I ended up using Prelude (part of Adobe Creative Cloud) to organize this footage in a cross-relational way. It can be super useful and efficient but also tricky to work with, so it's important to know how to set up your project, how to use and apply metadata, how to search, and how to create edit sequences that you can pull into Premiere for editing.
