We will construct some 'living media' called cellular automata, where creatures can grow, move, evolve. The most basic example is the game of life, but there are many more, some of which look quite organic; I'll prepare some examples, but a nice thing is that we can create or tweak new examples together! If time allows, we will also look at other types of creatures, e.g. creatures with evolving genes (and if time doesn't allow and there is interest, I can prepare a second session about that!)
We will work with Processing, so install it beforehand (of course if you just want to watch, that's perfectly fine, too!)
