Our first assignment was to build a fully functioning navigation device using nothing more than a microcontroller and other components that could not be more than $20 in total. The only function it had to complete was provide step-by-step directions for 8 predefined commands that would be sent to the navigation device via a bluetooth module.
I deciced to make little street-sign like navigation device that used LEDs for stop, forward and ‘you’ve reached your destination’ and a rotating bipolar stepper motor with signs attached for the directions.
Though I could have made the rotations direction appropriate and the put the LEDs on the right figure cutouts, all in all I’m happy with the result and that it actually worked very well.
