She is currently a third-year Ph.D. student at the ATLAS Institute at CU Boulder. She is a member of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.colorado.edu\/atlas\/unstable-design-lab\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Unstable Design Lab<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.colorado.edu\/atlas\/living-matter-lab\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Living Matter Lab<\/a>, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.colorado.edu\/atlas\/utility-research-lab\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Utility Research Lab<\/a>. Her research lies at the intersection of Textile Craft and Biodesign within Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). She is currently researching bio-based liquid solutions for fiber-making to envision applications in sustainable smart textiles.<br>[Find her publications&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/scholar.google.com\/citations?user=s0B13A0AAAAJ&amp;hl=en&amp;authuser=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>].<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eldy has a Bachelor\u2019s in Architecture and Urbanism and practiced the profession in Peru for several years before moving to the United States.<br>Her work follows sustainability principles in the early phases of the design process and is reflected in the design outcomes of her work. She believes in the importance of inclusive and accessible education, which is why her work incorporates open-source fabrication methods. She is an active member of the maker community and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/fablatkids\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FabLat Kids<\/a>&nbsp;program, and she has conducted workshops internationally about how to make interactive objects, bio-based materials, and 3D printing in textiles. She recently became a member of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sigchi.org\/sigchi-sustain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sustainability Committee<\/a>-SIGCHI 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>[Photos from the Talk]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The class students as well as other faculty members and biomaterial professionals joined the talk, and we had a great conversation.
