“Version Control tools are essential parts of any programmer’s toolbox. They allow you to save your work as you go, make continuous remote backups, and collaborate seamlessly with others — including being able to use all the amazing open source code out there on the internet. In this session, Greg will explain the basic ideas behind version control, lay out some of the various options that are out there, and give an introduction to his favorite Version Control tool, Git, and its complimentary hosting environment, GitHub.  He will also be going over some general specifics of how to BACK UP YOUR SHIT!!!”
