This ID is printed on your NYU ID Card and is typically your initials followed by a number. If you don&#8217;t know your NetID, contact helpdesk@itp.nyu.edu and we can look it up for you. To activate your NetID and set a password go to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/start.nyu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/start.nyu.edu\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have trouble activating your NetID, read <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyu.edu\/life\/information-technology\/accounts-and-access\/identity-and-accounts\/netid-and-password.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this help page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>E-mail<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You get an NYU e-mail account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your NYU e-mail address is based on your NetID: <a href=\"mailto:netid@nyu.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>netid<\/em>@nyu.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">NYU Home<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Access your NYU e-mail and many other services provided by NYU through <a href=\"https:\/\/home.nyu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/home.nyu.edu\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>NYU Web Hosting<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Information about web hosting at NYU is available here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyu.edu\/life\/information-technology\/web-and-digital-publishing\/digital-publishing.html\">https:\/\/www.nyu.edu\/life\/information-technology\/web-and-digital-publishing\/digital-publishing.html<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Wireless Networking<\/strong> (WiFi)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>ITP is set up for wireless networking, as is Bobst Library, and many other NYU buildings. Anyone with a valid NYU Net ID can access it. Instructions for how to set up your laptop to access the NYU wireless network can be found at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyu.edu\/life\/information-technology\/infrastructure\/network-services\/wifi.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.nyu.edu\/life\/information-technology\/infrastructure\/network-services\/wifi.html<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Wired Networking (Ethernet)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you can connect to NYU&#8217;s wired network (NYU-NET), you have to register your computer with NYU at <a href=\"https:\/\/nyu.service-now.com\/sp?id=kb_article&amp;sysparm_article=041205417563196&amp;sys_kb_id=ae1c73567449810075e62ca050042e7d&amp;spa=1\">https:\/\/nyu.service-now.com\/sp?id=kb_article&amp;sysparm_article=041205417563196&amp;sys_kb_id=ae1c73567449810075e62ca050042e7d&amp;spa=1<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use your NYU NetID and password to log in to the form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will need your MAC Address, aka your Ethernet Address or Physical Address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For Mac, look for &#8220;Ethernet Address&#8221; at System Preferences -> Network->Ethernet.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For Windows, go to Network &amp; Internet settings.
