We have several Floor Staff positions available for the coming academic year, split evenly between Shop and Equipment Room for the 2018-2019 Academic Year.

The Floor Staff at ITP play a vital role in supporting the ITP Community and ensuring the smooth operation of the Floor. The Floor Staff is made up exclusively of ITP Students. The positions pay **$17.00** per hour and carry a high degree of responsibility. The opportunity to act in a role of service and leadership is highly desired and cultivated.

Appointments are made in one of three main areas: Equipment Room, Shop, Specialty. Students appointed to the Equipment Room are responsible for checking out/in production equipment and materials to students in the program. They assist in maintaining the equipment, keeping the Equipment Room organized and tracking department assets. They must be very organized, have strong communication skills, a service mentality and an attention for detail. Preference is given to those with video, audio, photography and lighting experience. The ability to run student tutorials is also desired. Students appointed to the Shop are responsible for ensuring that safety guidelines are followed, that the tools and equipment are used properly, that the guidelines for storing projects and materials are followed, that the Shop is clean and organized and that tools are maintained and secured. They must be organized, have strong communication skills, a service mentality and an attention for detail. Preference is given to those with carpentry, engineering, design and fabrication experience. Running safety sessions and tutorials is required. Students appointed to the Soft Lab / 3-D Printing / PCB area do so mostly by extension of working in the Equipment Room or Shop. They are actually called Caretakers. All of the same responsibilities apply. Preference is given to those with sewing, fabrication, crafts, DIY experience.

The ability to run tutorial sessions is required so all students are able to use these areas safely.
