The NYU community continues to demonstrate remarkable resilience, dedication, and support for each other, even when life\u2019s challenges can test our collective strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wellbeing is just that\u2014a collective responsibility. We must take care of ourselves\u00a0<em>and<\/em>\u00a0each other so that each of us feels supported and valued. To that end, we would like to offer some concrete steps to maintain your wellbeing as we study, work, and engage with one another this year. We also encourage you to explore the resources linked below to guide you in supporting yourself and others through difficult times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Prioritize Your Mental\u00a0Health<br>Your mental\u00a0health\u00a0matters. When you are\u00a0healthy\u00a0and well, you can focus on your academic and professional goals.\u00a0Students\u00a0can find 24\/7 mental\u00a0health\u00a0support through the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/2t689u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wellness Exchange<\/a>\u00a0and can learn\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/im789u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">stress management tips<\/a>\u00a0and find opportunities for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/ye889u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mindfulness and reflection<\/a>. Faculty and staff can find support through the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/e7889u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Work Life office<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/uz989u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Employee Assistance Program<\/a>.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Stay Connected and Build Bridges<br>Belonging has two elements, both bonding and bridging. Both are key to your wellbeing. NYU offers many opportunities to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/asa99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">connect with others, both with similar interests and to inspire new ones<\/a>, including over\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/qkb99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">300 clubs and organizations<\/a>. Faculty, staff, and\u00a0students\u00a0can be part of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/6cc99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NYU In Dialogue<\/a>\u00a0events and programming designed to bring community members together to listen and engage across differences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Balance Work and Rest<br>It\u2019s easy to fall into a pattern of overworking, so it\u2019s important to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/m5c99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">know your limits<\/a>\u00a0and set boundaries. Take breaks, get enough sleep, and do things that bring you joy and relaxation.\u00a0Students\u00a0can use a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/2xd99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Museum Access Pass<\/a>\u00a0for free access to local museums. Community members can use\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/iqe99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NYU ScholasTix<\/a>\u00a0for discounts on entertainment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Get Active<br>Movement is key to your physical and mental\u00a0health. Whether it&#8217;s a walk around campus, a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/yif99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">yoga session<\/a>, a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/ebg99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fitness class<\/a>\u00a0at the gym for\u00a0students, or getting a workout at one of the NYU Athletics Fitness centers for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/u3g99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">students, faculty, and staff<\/a>, find time to move your body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Be Kind to Yourself and Others<br>Practice kindness and patience with yourself and those around you. Small acts of kindness can have a profound impact on someone\u2019s day. Learn more about\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/awh99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">emotional regulation<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/qoi99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">healthy\u00a0relationships<\/a>. And you can find out more about meditation, mindfulness, and other initiatives on campus that promote compassion and wellbeing through\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/6gj99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MindfulNYU<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. Ask for Help<br>Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. If you are struggling academically,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/m9j99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">connect with academic support<\/a>\u00a0or the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/21k99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Student\u00a0Success office<\/a>. Faculty, staff, and administrators can find support through the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/iul99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Employee Assistance Program (EAP)<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/ymm99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">professional development opportunities<\/a>\u00a0through\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/efn99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Human Resources<\/a>. Faculty seeking to help a\u00a0student\u00a0in academic or emotional distress can find guidance through the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/u7n99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Student\u00a0Success office<\/a>\u00a0or the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/a0o99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wellness Exchange<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. Listen to Your Body<br>Take steps to protect your physical\u00a0health:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/qsp99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">eat well<\/a>, get your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/6kq99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">flu and COVID-19 shots<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/mdr99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">seek medical care<\/a>\u00a0when you are not well. If you are feeling physical pain, don\u2019t ignore it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8. Give Back<br>Participating in volunteer or community events increases your sense of purpose, and enhances your wellbeing and that of others. NYU offers many volunteer opportunities for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/25r99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">students<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/i6ifyt\/ml9oojj\/iys99u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">administrators<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we embark on this new academic year, let\u2019s create a community that is stronger together. NYU has always been a place of learning, growth, and innovation, a global university that builds bridges.
