Faculty conduct a series of interviews and final offers are sent 2 weeks before the start of classes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Who<\/strong> Graduate Assistants can be any current ITP graduate student.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong> We have GA positions available  for <strong>Class Support<\/strong> &#8211; You provide office hours, in class help, and\/or feedback to students taking specific IMA classes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Where<\/strong> All GAs will work at 370 Jay Street, Brooklyn, New York.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>When<\/strong> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Supervision<\/strong> GAs are supervised by the faculty member they are assisting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Schedule<\/strong> Most positions are in the range of 4-7 hours a week.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Selection Process<\/strong> Individual faculty will interview and select GAs.\u00a0 <strong>Criteria<\/strong> GAs are chosen based primarily on how the applicant&#8217;s strengths for service, class support, and research line up with the current needs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Benefits<\/strong> GAs may join the Graduate Student Union which comes with a variety of benefits (including greatly discounted health insurance).\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/makingabetternyu.org\/understand-it\/\">Please see the summary on union website for more information.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Commitment<\/strong> This is  not a casual commitment &#8212; hours may not be flexible and are not optional  &#8212; you can&#8217;t &#8220;give your shift to someone else&#8221; &#8212; we expect those who  accept our offer to make a full commitment for the duration of the  semester and to be professional and responsible &#8212; on time meeting and  office hours, arriving prepared and motivated.\u00a0 If you are looking for a  casual work situation where you work a few hours one week, and maybe  none the next, this isn&#8217;t the job for you &#8212; if you think you will have a  busy semester and know you will have to blow off your work schedule to  get your projects done, this isn&#8217;t the job for you.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><br><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-1450","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/help\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/1450","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/help\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/help\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/help\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/help\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=1450"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/help\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/1450\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/help\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1450"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
