In a scene resembling that of a home interior, picture frames hold images of the user. Next to the frames is a perpetual calendar, which the user moves to simulate the moving of time. As the calendar is moved to align the months with up to seven years in the future, equivalent to the seven years of time left to delay climate change on the carbon clock, the images and music become distorted to reflect the damage of rising sea levels. Through this symbolic impact of climate change, the user may become more conscious of slowing it to maintain a lifestyle with which they are already familiar.

Video

Class info

Learn More

IMNY-UT.400.002

Capstone (UG)

Sound,Art,Installation

Future History by Abby Ausmus Capstone Future History is an interactive installation that seeks to personalize the relationship between people’s daily lives and climate change in order to emphasize the importance of taking action towards slowing global warming.
